State-of-Art Diagnostics
Nasal Endoscopy
A nasal endoscope is a camera with a thin fiberoptic light and magnification attached. During a nasal endoscopy, the instrument gently passes through the nostril and provides a detailed look at the nasal anatomy, central airway and posterior (further back) aspects of the nose and nostrils. This process takes less than thirty (30) seconds, may be slightly uncomfortable, but is not painful.
A nasal endoscopy provides superior visualization, optimizing our ability to evaluate causes to your symptoms: Is it infectious? Could there be an allergic component? Is it inflammation? Is there anatomic obstruction, masses, polyps, etc.? Using an endoscope eliminates guesswork, allowing us to provide an accurate diagnoses and expedite your healing..
MiniCAT Instant CT Scanner
Another area where the Triangle Sinus Center has invested in state-of-the-art diagnostics is with a MiniCAT™ Instant CT™ Imaging system.
The MiniCAT is used when we need to examine the sinuses beyond what we can see with the nasal endoscope. The MiniCAT creates quality images of the sinuses in 20-40 seconds while the patient is sitting upright, comfortably, in an open chair. This makes it easy for even children to be scanned. In addition, the scanner only requires 10% of the radiation dosage of a full CT scanner.
Fast, Comfortable & Convenient Scans
Often, patients can have their CT scan taken and reviewed during their initial office visit. This is not only convenient, but allows our team to review detailed pictures of your sinuses while explaining potential conditions and discuss and create a customized treatment plan.
Accredited Facility – Providing Reliability
We are accredited facility through Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC.) This means we produce quality, reliable CT Scans in concordance the highest industry standards.
Image Guidance System
Image guidance is another tool to further assist during a sinus procedure. Image guidance is found in nearly every hospital and surgery center in the country and is similar to GPS in our cars. It works in conjunction with a patient’s CT scan to provide precise locations or mapping of the nasal and sinus cavity. Since every patient’s anatomy is unique, image guidance removes the guesswork as it pertains to anatomy location, allowing the physicians to provide optimal care.
Surgeons of Triangle Sinus Center were among the first in the RTP region to bring Image Guidance to the office based procedures. Having this cutting-edge care on-site, allows us to provide sinus procedures in the office versus having to go to the surgery center or hospital. This is not only convenient, but provides a quicker recover time – allowing patients to get back to enjoying life!
